Day 43 to the Southpole

Today has been an absolutely brilliant day!! We crossed 87 degrees and managed a full 27 km!! We never would have believed that. But as Mom says, she goes slowly on the flat because it’s uninspiring, and fast in the sastrugi because it’s fun. It may not be logical, but that’s how it is.

We’re sleeping right in the middle of a slope, so we’ll see if we haven’t rolled out of the tent by morning. Tomorrow is also Mom’s birthday — that will be special! ❤️❤️
