Today started with a very happy surprise — there was actually quite a bit of wind! Up here on the polar plateau it’s often completely calm, and the forecast had also suggested little to no wind for the coming days. But thanks to our Nepalese prayer flags in the tent, the weather gods must have heard us.

So we kited away — not at crazy speed, but at a nice, steady pace.

A good part of the day was spent changing kite sizes as the wind slowly died down and we had to go up a size. We also slept in really late since we were kiting last night until 1 a.m., and didn’t crawl into our sleeping bags until 3. Still, we made the most of the day and managed to get 70 kilometers farther north!
