Day 29 to the Southpole

From one second to the next, the weather and conditions go from being fine to turning into a full glass of milk that we’re wandering around inside. Impossible to see whether it’s going uphill or downhill. It’s an exciting affair — but a tiring one too.

A layer of fresh snow made the sleds heavy, and when the whiteout joined in, progress almost came to a standstill.

BUT after 8 hours, we had actually moved farther than where we started the day, so I guess that counts as a victory in itself.
