Day 22 to the Southpole

Today we started the day by listening to a Christmas song — we do that throughout December until Spotify shuts off because we’ve been without reception for too long. Today’s song was All I Want for Christmas Is You, and that one hit me with an instant wave of homesickness right in the soul. It’s one thing to be away from the people you love for a long time, but being away during Christmas is something else. It feels a bit heavy at times, but once we got going, everything felt better.

We covered 24 km today — a good, steady day with nice snow conditions. We’re heading into some flat and comfortable kilometers now, which will be great!

Sending love to everyone back home whom we won’t get to see this Christmas. Thinking especially of you today ❤️
