Day 17 to the Southpole

We got off to a late start today because of the strong winds yesterday and overnight. The weather forecast predicted calmer conditions around lunchtime, so we waited a bit and set out at 11. The day turned out to be pleasant, with a little wind but otherwise great conditions. We walked quite late to make sure we got enough hours in, and now kitchen boy Mom is busy over the pots, trying to get all the water boiled!

We also lit our Advent candle and sang a somewhat patchy version of Tenn lys, relying solely on my memory from when I learned it at Ekeberg elementary school from my teacher Mari — thanks for that! It's been 15 years (I almost sound old), so the lyrics are a bit rusty, but that's okay — no one can hear us anyway 😊
