Dare to dream

You may ask yourself, where in the world does and idea like this come from? I am going to tell you the story. I (Emma) was on my exchange year in California, in a tiny country town named Chico. I lived there in the hot weather thinking to myself, "I am never going back to freezing Norway", but my inner polar explorer started to wake up after a few months, and started missing snow, skis and frozen toes.

I was lying on my back in shorts and a t-shirt in my backyard in January, but it was still 70 degrees Fahrenheit. I was lying there, isolated, trapped by covid. I had managed to avoid the virus for almost 2 years, but now it caught me. So I was lying in the grass, eating an orange from the orange tree in my garden, and suddenly had an internal crisis. "My exchange year is soon over ?!" "There's less time left than I've been here ?!" My lifelong dream and biggest goal are soon over and I have no idea what to look forward to now if this is over. That's when my brain started spinning, it jumped everywhere, thought of absolutely every idea in the world, and suddenly it stopped on the arctic desert in the south. My childhood dream I never thought I would dare to say out loud; the dream of the South Pole.

A seed of a crazy idea was born, it's scary but tantalizing and exciting all at the same time!
